The antibodies used for the sandwich recognize the intact 84 amino acid biological chain of parathyroid hormone (PTH 1-84). The monoclonal antibodies, specific to the mid region and the C-terminal part of the 39-84 of the molecule, are adsorbed onto the ELSA solid phase. The antibodies radiolabeled with iodine-125 are polyclonals recognizing the N-terminal part 1-34 of the molecule used as the tracer.
Two alternative assay procedures:
1- 16-20h at RT
2- Rapid procedure: 30 min at RT / shaking.
Working range: 0.7 – 1500 pg/mL (NIBSC 95/646) - µIU=0.78 pg/mL
Sample: serum or EDTA plasma – 200 µL
Analytical sensitivity: 0.7 pg/mL
Functional sensitivity: 3 pg/mL
