Overview

Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) p24 is the 231 amino acid phosphorylated protein of the capsid forming the conical core of the virus, which encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex. p24 is a cleavage product of the p55 Gag polyprotein by viral proteases. HIV p24 and its 55 kDa precursor play crucial roles in the assembly, maturation, and disassembly of HIV.  In gene therapy, HIV-derived lentiviral vectors are useful and commonly implemented to deliver transgenes to mammalian cells. Assays against the p24 antigen have become a standard method for measuring lentiviral transduction efficiency.

Key features

16 µL of recombinant protein in diluent #5 were dispensed into a low volume white microplate before the addition of 4 µL of the premixed HTRF anti HIVp24 detection reagents. The HTRF signal was recorded after 2h incubation at RT.
