Angiotensin I radioimmunoassay kit RIA
The REN-CT2P RIA assay allows to measure angiotensin I levels to determine plasma renin activity (PRA) in hypertensive patients.
Overview
Evaluate the renin-angiotensin system
Assess and monitor hypertensive patients
Differentially diagnosis between primary and secondary aldosteronism
Assay principle: competition
Prior to the assay, preparation of the samples is required for generation of angiotensin I in the plasma samples. The principle of the assay is based on a competition between angiotensin I radiolabelled with iodine-125 and angiotensin I contained in the samples for a fixed and limited number of anti-angiotensin I polyclonal antibody binding sites adsorbed onto the tube walls. Twoo steps assay procedure:
1- Preparation of the plasma samples: blanks (ice bath) and generated samples (90 min at 37°C then ice bath)
2- Assay: 90 min at RT / shaking.
